I didn’t think I’d have time to post this month; it’s the kids’ first day back at school, the house is a post Christmas tip, the fridge is bare and my big cat needs some time out from the little cat (she’s coping fairly well with the new intruder on her territory).
But then I mentioned to Juneta Key that I get things done by giving myself 30 minute time slots and, well… that felt like a challenge (although I only have 10 minutes left after copying all those links!) So, I want to tell you about the Story Time Blog hop on January 27th, you can read about it on Juneta’s blog here and are welcome to join in if you have a story to add to the hop.
I took part in the last one in August last year and it was a blast. It’s a great way to meet other writers, get your stories read and another opportunity to widen your blogging network. Even if you don’t have a story available, there are all these other ones to read.
My 30 minutes is up now, so Happy New Writing Year!

My fridge is also bare and I’m getting crafty pulling items from the cupboards and freezer. My holiday decs are still up, gifts not all put away. I like my tree so I want another week! It’s all part of January for me, to get back in the swing.
I’m curious about your cats! Do you keep the new kitty in her own space away from the big cat at intervals? I have one cat and we’d love to get another but not sure ours will be very accommodating.

We did to start with and gradually over time they’ve started sharing space, but only our older cat is allowed upstairs to give her an escape. Unfortunately I don’t think they’re ever going to get on :(, not helped by the kitten going through an annoying teenage stage at the moment ;). I still hold out hope that over time they’ll at least learn to tolerate each other.

Thanks! It’s so hard to know how pets will take a new entry to the fuzzy family 🙂 Our cat has been solo for 10 years; he was a rescue by kind people who lived in an apartment with a limit on pets, so he had companions before but he was a kitten.

I do things in 30 minute increments too! Thanks for the tip on the blog hop. I haven’t done one in a long time and I think it would help me get back into my imagination after being “Just Mom” for two months.

Love the 30-minute time slot idea! I always work in short increments of time (I started with 15), and it helps when life is hectic, as it usually is.

I went to the grocery store Monday and it was mass chaos. Every time I passed the store all day, the parking lot was packed…on a Monday! Everyone was restocking those fridges after the holidays.

A focused thirty minutes and yeah, I could get some things done.
Don’t think I’ll be able to do the Story Time Hop. I still have to figure out what I’m writing for the Lost and Found Valentine’s Hop. Not sure why I signed up to write something romantic. Oh yeah, I’m co-hosting it. Crap.
